My latest endeavor.... ILLUSTRATION!
Lately I've been working on a nonfiction book about wild cats, which includes interviewing some very talented wild cat handlers at zoos--big fun! I've also been spending my time illustrating my picture book The Jack O' Lantern Tree, as well as nonfiction puzzles for my company Ari's Garden where I also blog. Imagine my excitement when I was asked to write the story of the Columbus Zoo's most popular baby's first year of life! That, and the opportunity to get "up close and personal" with Beco and Mama Phoebe -- well, it doesn't get better than that! I hope you'll be interested in learning about this extraordinary baby and the plight of elephants everywhere in Beco's Big Year: A Baby Elephant Turns One.

LYNCHBURG-CLAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL allowed me to spend a day in their wonderful school. It was great seeing my friends there! FAIRBANKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL hosted me for a day full of book talks and writing workshops. It was a great day! Thanks to everyone there! GRANVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY hosted me for a book signing and visit with students. I had a great time! TRINITY LUTERAN SCHOOL in Toledo hosted me for a wonder Author Visit in January. They were the first school to see the actual book. Big fun! Thanks again to everyone there! AUTUMN BOOK FESTIVAL IN FOSTORIA, OHIO I had a wonderful day in Fostoria, visiting with the friendly people there, and lots of other authors. I look forward to going back next year!
